How to read prices in this course
We study Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH) and other cryptoassets. In BTC/USD, BTC is the base asset and USD the quote currency, so the price is USD per BTC. BTC/USDT instead quotes in USDT tokens, and a stablecoin is not guaranteed to equal or redeem for one dollar. Crypto spot generally trades 24/7, so a candle close ends an interval rather than a trading day, and the timezone matters, usually UTC. Spot and perpetual feeds can differ, and last, index and mark prices are distinct references. Every price used in examples is fictional.
